Keith Nale, 2-time contestant on Survivor, dead at 62 WSOC TV

SHREVEPORT, La. — Keith Nale, a firefighter who was a two-time contestant on the reality television show “Survivor,” died Tuesday. He was 62.
Nale died at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana, his son, Wes Nale, told Entertainment Tonight.
“It happened so quickly,” Kevin Nale, the contestant’s brother, told the entertainment news website. “Cancer ate him up.
“A life taken way too soon!”
Keith Nale’s wife, Dana, said it was unclear what type of cancer her husband had, KTAL-TV reported.
Nale reached the final four of the 2014 reality show, “Survivor: San Juan del Sur,” Deadline reported. He also appeared on the 2015 version of the show, “Survivor: Cambodia” but was voted off before the final round.
“Survivor host” Jeff Probst and the series’ Instagram account shared a joint statement Wednesday paying tribute to Keith Nale.
“Completely unique in every way,” the post stated. “He brought endless joy and laughter to ‘Survivor’ fans and to those of us who made the show with him.”
Nale and his son appeared together on the 2014 show, Entertainment Weekly reported.
In a 2015 interview, Keith Nale told Entertainment Weekly that he advanced deep into the competition with absolutely “no strategy.”
“Wesley got me in this, so I just showed up for him -- what the heck, try to win a million dollars,” he said. “Well, I tried to do it my way and it got me to fourth place.”
Keith Nale was eliminated in 2015 two days before the Final Tribal Council, after Kelley Wentworth, the majority’s principal target, won immunity, according to Entertainment Tonight reported. Jeremy Collins was the eventual winner.
